Integers in Dataflows are loading in scientific notation format in PowerBI Desktop
We are facing an intermittent issue with PowerBI reports which import data via dataflows. For some reason we arew finding that columns that are integers or decimal numbers in the data flow are loading into Power BI in the scientific notation format. We have tried splitting columns out so the values comprise fewer digits and merging them back again within Power Query. This has worked in some cases, but now we are finding even the split up numbers are coming through in scientific notation. Its causing us a big headache and it would be really helpful if anyone has any thoughts on what could be causing it. We have also tried converting to text but without success. Thanks.

As Bmejia mentioned, you can try the steps in the linked thread, such as changing the data type to Decimal in Power BI Desktop and increasing the decimal places to display the full value, or using a custom format string in the Modeling view to control how the numbers are shown.

In addition, there is another suggestion from a related discussion where disabling the “Detect column types and headers for unstructured sources” option helped prevent automatic conversion into scientific notation. You can try this in your setup and check if it resolves the intermittent formatting issue.
