Installation Fails - Desktop update May 2018
Attempting to install May update and the installation keeps failing. It freezes in the wizard with "Status - Computing space requirements" and then fails with this message: "The folder path "My Documents" contains an invalid character." At no point in the installation is the wizard being pointed to that location so that is not something I can change. The destination folder is C:\Program Files|Microsoft Power BI Desktop\
I have re-downloaded the update multiple times with no success. I cannot use the store app as I am running Windows 8. This is the first time I have had any issues updating to the new version.

Do you map "My Documents" to a network path? If so, please map a drive to "My Documents" and change registry key to point the folder to the drive, you can check the detailed solution in the similar thread below.
