Inherit d365 security role in Power BI using dataverse connector

Hi All,

I have a requirement where admin user will load data in Power BI report using dataverse connector for devlopment but after publish  the report  in D365 (MS CRM) , report should follow CRM security role. So if  User A has Parent child BU level access then he/she could see data of all member from his BU and child BU.

Can we inherit D365 security role in Power bi ?

Hi @meenakshiramdeo ,

In Power BI, we ususlly use row level security to restrict data access for given users.

Row-level security (RLS) with Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft Docs

Here is a blog talking about it: Dynamic Row Level Security with Organizational Hierarchy Power BI - RADACAD

Through organizational hierarchy the approach is that each employee should have access to his/her own data, and manager should have access to employee’s data, there might be another higher level manager as well. every person should have access to all employees under him or her.

Thanks @Anonymous  for reply. But since MSCRM (D365) already have a security / hierarchy setup and  I wanted to know using Dataverse connector we directly use that setup withour RLS.
