Infra Resources Tracking visuals
Hi,
I want to build the visuals for the infra servers' load tracking and availability timings.
May I know what kind of visuals are perfect to meet the requirement.

The choice of visualization isn’t just about the domain (infra server load and availability) — it's fundamentally about two core elements:

The message type you want to convey — trends, alerts, ranking, time series comparisons, etc.

The data structure — how your data is organized, aggregated, and bucketed.
Examples:

Goal: visualize server load over time per server → Use a heatmap.

Goal: rank servers by a single metric → go for a simple bar chart.

Goal: rank servers by multiple metrics → combine a table (with conditional formatting) and bar charts, and consider adding trend indicators or alerts for clarity.
Multi ranking + alerts :
Multi ranking + time series comparisons,

For tracking your servers load and availability, you will want visuals that make it easy to see both real-time performance and historical uptime patterns. Here are some ideas you could try in Power BI.- Line or area charts: show how CPU, memory, or network usage changes over time so you can quickly spot spikes.
- Column charts: compare server loads side-by-side for a specific time period.
- Cards or KPI visuals: display quick key numbers like current CPU load, average uptime %, or total downtime hours.
- Heatmaps: highlight busy or idle periods by showing load/availability across days and times.
- Gauges or donut charts: track how close you are to your uptime targets (e.g., 99.9%).
- Timeline/Gantt visuals: clearly show when each server was available or offline.
You can make it interactive by adding slicers for server name, date range, or metric type.
