I am sensing that this will requiere a custom graph. Anyone has experience building something like this?

I have created the chart in Python, is there an easy way to translate to Deneb?

Python may work too depending on the libraries. Try that, and remember you must use the built-in renderer.

yes, have a look at the Vega/Vega Lite sample library. You can use the Deneb visual to implement these.
