So what you need is the index column? I'm not clear about what did you do while getting 27,28,29 as described, however you can create a calculated column with DAX.
index = RANKX(yourTable,yourTable[UserName],,ASC,Dense)

Thanks for your response. no luck , getting the below error. "A single value for column 'User Name' in table 'Table1' cannot be determined. This can happen when a measure formula refers to a column that contains many values without specifying an aggregation such as min, max, count, or sum to get a single result."- Eric_Zhang8 years ago

If a measure is required, you could try
index = RANKX(ALLSELECTED(yourTable),CALCULATE(MAX(yourTable[username])),,ASC,Dense)
