Hi guys,
I have been trying to set up an incremental refresh but it doesn't work like I expect.
I did all those things below yesterday :
1)Create the parameters RangeStart ( = 18/04/2023 00:00:00) and RangeEnd (=18/04/2023 23:59:59) and I have applied them in a datetime column of my fact table. So I have initially only data of 18/04/2023
2)Then, I set up the incremental refresh like below
3) I published to the Service yesterday.
Today, after the refresh, I noticed that all my data of 18/04/2023 has been deleted and there is only new data of 19/04/2023 while I expected to see data of these two days.
Can you tell me what is wrong ?
At the same time, I would like to understand what is the role of the 2 parameters ? Just to filter data initially to create a data archive or it is used at every refresh so how do it is used ?
Thank you very much in advance !
Hi,
Have you managed to resolve this issue ? I have absolutely the same situation.
Data from previous day disappear.
The article below is a useful reference in setting up incremental refresh. How did you apply RangeStart and RangeEnd to the DateTime column in your fact table? It's recommended to use a configuration like the one below. You could set RangeEnd to 19/04/2023 00:00:00. This would return data for 18/04/2023 in the pbix (assuming RangeStart is 18/04/2023 00:00:00). Once you publish to the service, RangeStart and RangeEnd are overridden by the incremental refresh policy.
