Hi,
I have been trying to find a solution for my issues, but I cannot find the answer. Hopefully there is someone around here who can tell me what I am doing wrong.
My setup
I am building a paginated report in Power BI Report Builder v15.7.1797.84.
My units are set to metric (mm and cm)
The page size I have set is A4 (210mm x 297mm)
On my report I have set the following margins:
My issue
I have set up a test-report using the following dimensions:
Header:
Height: 30mm
Body:
Width: 170mm
Height: 60mm (this doesn't matter for this test)
Footer:
Height: 17mm
Given my dimensions I should get a report filling one single page. Since:
Height: 10mm (margin top) + 30mm (header) + 230mm (body) + 17mm (footer) + 10mm (margin bottom) = 297mm
Width: 20mm (margin left) + 170mm (body) + 20mm (margin right) = 210mm
I have tried to print to pdf using this very simple setup where I have given the header, body and footer a specific color. Yet the report renders on 2 pages.
If I set the width of the body to 169.936mm the report renders on a single page (once I set it to 169.9361mm it renders on 2).
I have found the same for my height. If I set the height of my body to 230.1239mm it renders on a single page, from 230.124 it renders on 2.
These body setting render a single page report.
These body settings render a 4 page report.
How can I get rid of this inaccuracy? Or should I just accept I have to set my height and width to fractions of mm to get a full sized report?

Hi @Anonymous ,
You can set properties to modify the physical page size and margins, and divide the report into columns; use the Report Properties pane, the Properties pane, or the Page Setup dialog box. Access the Report Properties pane by clicking the blue area outside the report body. Access the Page Setup dialog box by clicking Run on the Home tab, and then clicking Page Setup on the Run tab.
If you've designed a report to be one page wide, but it renders across multiple pages, check that the width of the report body, including margins, isn't larger than the physical page size width. To prevent empty pages from being added to your report, you can reduce the container size by dragging the container corner to the left.

I have checked the Page Setup and it did indeed show other margins than I set on my report.
After setting them sometimes they revert back (to 20.07 and 9.91). Though annoying this happens, your explanation was the right one for my problem.
