In DATEDIFF function, the start date cannot be greater than the end date

I have not found in the community a solution for my question,  I have 2 datefields - which I want to get the difference from. It does not matter what is coming first the result is always the error info above.

Here are the details of the formulas:
1) Release_Date = DATEDIFF([Approval_Date].[Date],[Manufacture_date].[Date],DAY)

2) Releasedate2 = datediff([Manufacture_date].[Date],[Approval_Date].[Date],DAY)

I tried other date formats as well- but this does not helped.

Hi @Anonymous,

What version of Power BI desktop do you use?

I have made a test with Power BI Desktop Version (Version:2.59.5135.601 64-bit (July 2018)), everything works as expected.

If it is convenient, could you share your data sample, so that we can help further investigate on it?

In addition, you could have a reference of this similar thread which has been solved.

Best Regards,

I am using Version: 2.53.4954.481 32-bit (December 2017) – And as I need the 32bit version to get the connection to our Oracle database this is needed.

The error was that I had some letters in the same column-Therefore the Average calculation did not show up.
