Importing multiple instances of 2D data

Hi

I have just taken up a sport and I want to create a dashboard of my scores.

My data looks like:

Date           Round    Score1    Score2    Score3   Score4 Score5 Score6

22/02/22    1             6             5             5           5            4         4

                   2             6             6             6           6            4         4

                   3             ...

                   ...            ...

                   10           ...

I've been capturing the data in different sheets in the same Excel spreadsheet. What I would like to do is to import the data into Power BI so I can do some analytics. The problems I'm finding are:

1. Every time I import the data after a new score the data is imported as a new table

2. I then have to update the charts to include the new table 😞

A couple of questions:

1. Should I be using Excel to capture the data, is there a better way?

2. is there a way that I can import the data and have the charts update automatically?

Many thanks for any help!

You can try when you add need data: https://radacad.com/append-vs-merge-in-power-bi-and-power-query

Or you can keep merging data to excel and just refresh.

You can load data to some database.

Hi, @FrankMcQ

I'd like to suggest you use 'Left Outer' join kind to merge data in Power Query. You may also merge data in the data source and click 'Refresh' in Power BI Desktop to get the latest data.

Best Regards

Allan
