Importing from a MS LISTS

Hello to all,

Hope you are doing well today.

Is there a specific method that I need to use to import an MS Lists into a Client installed Power BI PRO ?

With my work computer, I am using version Version : 2.104.702.0 64-bit (avril, 2022) and the MS LISTS is one I've created for testing purpose. I am able to import the list in Power BI online.

I keep getting a message that I can't connect.

Using SharePoint List when trying to import.Connection.png

Now I am connected to the app on the top right corner but it still ask me to connect again.

No matter what type of connection I chose it won't work.

Tried various way to connect and it won't work.

Now I have a colleague who can't import an MS Lists with his Power BI too.

We are both able to import Excel files.

I counldn't find the information on the various web sites I look for.

Can it be that I need a premuim version of Power BI to be able to import an MS LISTS?

(That's the only thing I can think of for now.)

I feel I am missing something but I just can't put my finger on it.

If anyone would be so kind to help me with this?

Thank you and have a nice day 😊

Hello @danextian ,

I fixed my problem by getting the latest version (september 2022) of Power BI.

Not sure what was the problem but thank you for your help. 🙂

hI @Bedski ,

Importing Sharepoint lists doesn't require premium. SP should be something like this: https://domain.sharepoint.com/sites/site-name
Input the site name then, after signing in using a Microsoft account, you'll be provided with a list of available SP lists.

Hello @danextian ,

Thank you for your reply

When I try to connect, a window shows up like a popup for a fraction of second and it says (I'll translate here), that I am disconnected from my account.

The odd part of this is that on the top right corner it does days that I am connected. Like i said, I have a collegue from work who has the same issue.

I'm glad that the problem is not at the type of license we both have but I can't put the finger on what could be the problem.

BTW I have access to all of my stuff/ Microsoft softwares on the Office.com so the credentials are good. I guess also I should be assuming and correct me if I am wrong that the connection is SSO is it?

Again thank you for your help 😊

SSO usually is  the case for all office apps.
