Importing Data from Xero

I had a scenario which I am not able to find a solution for!

1.Which are the possible ways we can import data from Xero into Power BI.

2. Do we require a Data Platform in the middle while importing from Xero to Power BI.

Thanks in Advance

  • Nimai123  the Xero App will likely not cover your requirements as edit options are very limited and it also doesn't cover consolidation. I would recommend https://appsource.microsoft.com/en/product/power-bi/managility.xeroreporting?tab=Overview . This app automatically creates ab Azure SQL data warehouse with all Xero data to which you can add as many Xero companies as required  and combine it with data from other ERP/Accounting systems and SaaS sources. It also supports full statutory consolidation (e.g. intercompany eliminations, etc.) as well as currency conversions (local company>group). The solution also creates Power BI data models with all required DAX measures and 15+ best practice Power BI reports and offers planning and write-back. It has a price tag of $49 p.m. per company or $299 p.m for ten companies but that is likely well worth it as you will save thousands in implementation efforts and consulting services.

For importing data from Xero into Power BI, there are a few common ways. You can try using third-party connectors or integration tools that pull data from Xero and load it into a place Power BI can access easily.

Usually, having a data platform or cloud storage in the middle helps - especially if you want automated updates and smoother data handling. Tools like Skyvia can handle this by syncing Xero data into databases or cloud storage without much hassle, making it easy for Power BI to connect and refresh reports.
