Import data from Sharepoint list throws error "access to resource is forbidden"

Hi,

I have got Power BI Desktop (October 2017) and trying to gte data from Sharepoint list (On prem), so both are on prem. I use my windows credentials to connect to Sharepoint; but when i try to get data from Sharepoint list into Power BI (pbix file) i envcounter this error: "Access to Resource is forbidden". I have tried using Windows credetials: both current and alternate credentials options but nothing seems to work. Can someone please helP?

    Hi ravjeet

    Please check these to see if it will work

    Does the Power BI Desktop and Sharepoint List running on the same server？

    Does your credentials has access to the site? Try your credential to log in to sharepoint on premise to see if it is successful.

    as you said “I have got Power BI Desktop (October 2017) and trying to gte data from Sharepoint list (On prem), so both are on prem”, I wonder if you use Desktop for Power BI Report Server?

    If it is in this case, please post on the Power BI report server forum.

      Power BI Desktop is on my local machine and Sharepoint list is on separate server, but i do have access to the sharepoint site using my AD credentials and i can access it without any problem. i don't know what could be causing this issue.
