HI MSFT team
I have a strange problem which caused data error in all our dashboards. Locale for Import was Set to [ENGLISH-INDIA]
But after either Power BI software update or Power BI access on new formatted PC it changes to ENG-US.
our dashboard had errors due to it. Can some one explain why it happened Please?
Steps:
I am able to reproduce this in my local enviornment.
Windows 11 Enterprise / Dell Latitude 3430 / Power BI Version: 2.139.2054.0 64-bit (January 2025)
- Save the Import locale [en-US] and system datetime settings [en-US] Region [en-US]
- Save and do not [apply changes] for data, Save & Close Pbix file
- Restart Computer
- Change the Computer setting [en-Singapore] and system region settings [en-Singapore]
- Open Pbix file the Import locale changes to Singapore (instead of US format) - BUG
Thanks
Hi @abksharma ,
This issue might be related to how Power BI interacts with the system's regional settings. When you change the computer's region, Power BI might be automatically adjusting the locale settings to match the new region, which could be causing the import locale to change from en-US to en-Singapore.
Please ensure that the locale settings within Power BI are explicitly set and saved. Sometimes, Power BI might default to the system's regional settings if not explicitly defined.
Best Regards,
Rico Zhou
