I'm really struggling with the "Something went wrong" message.

I'm really struggling with the "Something went wrong" message. Since the Today morning 14-11-2025, every time I open a PBIX file in Power BI Desktop, the message appears, making it nearly impossible to work....

Resintalling the Power BI Worked for me.
Issue was with one PBIX file. I tried lot of things like Clearing Cache, delete DAT Files, Temp files & Even folders but nothing worked. So finally i reinstalled & now Power BI Desktop is working normal

Hello @Devvrat,

as the community members mentioned, you can restart your pc and make sure you have the power bi updated to the latest version.

i also can add that you can open an issue with microsoft and microsoft support will check your scenario and report it to the engineering team.

@Devvrat , does it happen for all pbix files you tried to open or with specific pbix file?
If it is for all pbix files,  @m4ni provided solution - restart machine 🙂

You could also try restarting your laptop if you havent already.  Sometimes there is more information below your error message too.  If so, please share.

@Devvrat this can happen for many reasons.

The most common and best place to start is update you Power BI desktop.  Could be out of date.

Failing that try opening just Power BI desktop and then use File > Open to open you pbix file.  It could be currupted.

If you get past these then it could even be broken data connections.  Please describe what your last actions were.  That could give a clue.

Thanks
