Is the account you are using your own or someone else's? If it's someone else's, the password may have been changed. You can ask for the correct password again.
Or reset the password, as you said. In this process, you mentioned that you entered a recovery email, which should be the email you need to reset your password, the one you used to log into power bi.

Is the email address you used to receive the captcha, etc. for recovery the same as the one you want to use to log into power bi desktop? I see that you say you can't access the account for recovering emails? If so, you need to have the account owner initiate a password reset.
