Hello. I have this query. I enlisted with an email from my company in the Power BI service. No one else in my company has associated power BI accounts. We also don't have other microsoft office accounts. That is, I am the only one who has an account to log into office.com and who has a Power BI account (the same account). My account is a free account, with which I applied to a trial period of the pro version for 60 days, that is, I theoretically have the same privileges of a pro account.
That said, my query is: When I want to try to publish a report on the web via File -> Insert Report -> Publish on the web (public) I get the message:
Contact your administrator to enable embed code creation
To publish the report to the web, ask your Power BI administrator to turn on the feature that lets you create embed codes on the web. once activated you can publish this report to the web
Then I started searching and browsing photos and the web trying to find a solution. One of the ones I found is that I should enter office.com and "self-assign" as an administrator; but that option doesn't work for me. To check it, I entered admin.microsoft.com and when I entered I get this message:
Your account (xxxxxx@xxxxxx.com) does not have permission to view or manage this page in the Microsoft 365 admin center.
Repeat. My account is the only one linked to an office 365 account, which was created at the same time I signed up for the power bi account, so there can't be, at least in my company, another account that is an office 365 and/or Power BI administrator.
How can I solve this problem so that I can publish public reports on the web and/or register as the power bi administrator of my company? My idea was precisely to try during this trial period and then go for the pro account, but honestly they seem many complications to make a simple post.
I hope you can help me. Thank you
Hasdrubal

Hi @Syndicate_Admin ,
When you signed up for Power BI using the user xxxxxx@xxxxxx.com, you will actually create a shadow tenant.
You need become an admin. Please follow the content of this blog: How to perform an IT Admin Takeover with O365
Then you can enable the option "Publish to web" in admin portal.
If the problem is still not resolved, please provide detailed error information or the expected result you expect. Let me know immediately, looking forward to your reply.

it's not about having a 60-day trial version of Power BI PRO.
the problem is to be able to enable all the features of Power BI at the administration level and for this it is necessary to register the domain with the platform as indicated here: Add a domain to Microsoft 365 - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn. without having this configuration, Office 365/Power BI cannot confirm that the platform "belongs to you" and that you can actually have access to the administration.
Once you can register the domain, you must assign yourself as a global administrator or as a Power BI administrator, as indicated here: Assign admin roles to the Microsoft 365 admin center - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn
After that, you must enable the Publish to the web feature in Power BI administration (more details here: About tenant configuration - Power BI | Microsoft Learn)
And finally enable the public link: Publish on the Power BI website - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
This solution leads me to the same startup problem, which tells me that my account doesn't have permission to view or be an administrator. But if I'm on the trial version of power bi pro for 60 days.
I have this same problem. I wonder if you found the solution, I would appreciate it if you share it.
Thanks a lot. I was able to resolve the situation and move forward with management.
Hi @Syndicate_Admin, which solution helped you resolve the issue? I'm encountering the exact same problem right now. I tried How to perform an IT Admin Takeover with O365 but it did not work for me. Thanks, hope to hear from you soon.
@Syndicate_Admin
Go to the Admin Portal
You need to enable Publish to Web feature in the tenant settings.

Hello
Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately it doesn't work.
I reiterate some of the facts of this situation:
That said, I clarify again that my account is not listed as a Power BI admin:
My account isn't an Office admin either,so I can't "self-designate" or any other account as a Power BI admin.
So, there is no other person or account with a admin profile in my company, because my account is the first and only one we've linked to the Power BI service.
We have worked with Power BI Desktop (without authenticated users), we have several boards that we want to publish, and that is why we started the process of registering in Power BI, starting with a PRO license. We managed to export a dashboard to my Power BI Web workspace, but when we try to publish it, it sends us to talk to an administrator that doesn't exist, and it's made something very complicated for us that should be very simple (publish a dashboard).
How do I enable the Power BI admin profile to my account to fix this issue?
Thanks again

Hello, I cannot see anything about changing the admin whe going to the microsoft 365 portal with the power bi login credentials?
I've clicked just about everywhere to find the admin access including logging in with my original account but still nothing - coudl you please share screenshots/specific links of setting up the admin ?
Many thanks,
Maria.
this is what I get when trying to login into the admin portal and then get redirected to supposedly microsoft 365 where I don't see any options on admin change / assignment!
