How to use Power BI through Azure cloud
Hi everyone,
I currently have a macbook with limited memory and CPU and new to Azure. I want to learn Power BI. As macbook don't have window system, I wonder if I still could access power bi through microsoft azure without downloading azure on my local machine?
If not, what's the better way to access Power BI desktop?
Because of limited storage on my macbook, i cannot installed VM or another windows on it as i tried it before.
Welcome any advice or suggestion. Thank you in advance!

Hi Anonymous
As selimovd said ,if you use Power BI Service ,you just need a browser like Google or Edge .But if you need to create a report from data source , you have to install a Power BI Desktop in a computer .
There are several methods you can refer to :
- Install Windows system on your computer .
- Install VM on your computer
- Install Power BI Desktop in another computer and then control it remotely through your computer .
- Turbo.net, which can stream Power BI to your Mac from the cloud: https://app.turbo.net/run/powerbi/powerbi
I found an issue which is the same as your situation, you can refer to their conversation

Hey Anonymous ,
if you want to only consume reports, you don't need Power BI Desktop. Then you can login to the Power BI Service just with a regular browser like Chrome or Safari.
But when you want to create reports, you need Power BI Desktop for sure. As you said a VM with Windows would be an option. If your MacBook doens't have enough RAM you can use a Azure VM and connect to that one or you can use a service like turbo.net to still run Power BI Desktop on a Mac.
Also take a look at the following video:
By the way, Azure is an online cloud computing service. This means you use services online, you cannot download Azure.
