I have Free PBI Desktop v2.105 (64 bit free version May 2022) on Windows 10 Windows Server 2019 Datacenter v1809.
I have 6 years of data in my PBIX file and I want to use the date slicer to choose 1 week of dates. The date slicer shows the slider but I don't want to use it, I want to type in the date. But when I click on the date numbers the date picker drops down, and I cannot use the number keys and slash to enter a date by hand. I used to be able to type in a date with PBI from Dec 2021. This no longer works in the May 2022 version.
I have tried various ways to click in the date field to type in a date but PBI will not let me use the number keys to enter a date.
So how do I do this now? Is there some setting I have to set?
Thank you!

Unfortunately, this is by design. Power BI is now unable to achieve what you need . You can submit an idea for it at https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums and wait for users with the same needs as you to vote for you to help make it happen as soon as possible.
