How to stop split window after unhiding?
I very reguarly use the hide window button (far left of the 3 window buttons in the upper right). This puts the PBI window in the task bar. Once I click the PBI window in the task bar (to return it to full size... or so I thought) it puts the window in HALF size.
If you hide a window (from full screen) in Excel, Outlook, VS Code and then click it in the taskbar it will return it to full screen (as expected). Just for fun I did a test with an Excel window... by purposefully making it half size (yuck) and hiding it, then returning it. As expected, it does return to half size (which was the state I hid in, and makes perfect sense).
I have tried searching google to see if this was a windows problem, a PBI desktop problem or anything else I can find about it with no luck. Can anyone tell me how to work around this bug?
PS: Yes it's a bug, because I don't see an option to turn it off and every other MS application works correctly, also because it is definitely bugging me.
I was able to find my own solution for this one. There must have been a problem with the March version of the desktop app that I had but updating to the currently latest (August version) fixed it for me. Now PBI works as expected and how all of my other MS applications work.

yep, one of the adorable quirks of Power BI Desktop (together with the endless focus stealing during startup). Seems to happen more often when you use multiple monitors and these monitors have different resolutions.

I have not encountered such a problem, and this works well on my computer. When I click on the taskbar, the window will be restored to the size and position it was before I hid it. Please refer to the GIF picture below.
It should be noted that the window system records the size and position of the last time you closed the window by default, that is, if the size of the window is half the size when I close the window, then when I reopen the program, the window will default to half the size.
If you want to restore the window to full size after clicking the taskbar, please make sure that the window is full size when you hide the window.Hope this helps.

If this post helps, then please consider Accept it as the solution to help the other members find it more quickly.I explained that the other MS applications do work correctly (they return the window to the state which you hid it upon re-opening from taskbar). PBI does not do this for me though. I do have two monitors and I don't know if this is causing a problem with PBI, but as I stated; at least three other MS applications all work fine as expected with only PBI having the problem I describe.
