How to set-up Visual for restricted viewing access ?

Hi all, 
I have a requirement for visual and filter page, where 

  1. Location responsible - Can view his location and all location overview visual.
  2. Location responsible - Can Filter/Slice Under his location only. (Cannot look/slice into Business Area or Sub-type)
  3. Default - gives a complete/global view on first page.

Any, help or idea on how to tackle this is appreacted.

    Hi uidn1574 ,

     

    RLS can be used to achieve the second point: Location responsible - Can Filter/Slice Under his location only. (Cannot look/slice into Business Area or Sub-type)

    Row-level security can be used to restrict data access for given users,Filters restrict data access at the row level. Please refer this:

    Row-level security (RLS) with Power BI

     

    For needs like 1 and 3 points. I would suggest you submit an idea in Power BI Ideas: Ideas

    It’s a place where the product group collects suggestions from users to improve the features of this product. Thanks in advance!

    Hi Gao,
    Thanks for replying. 

    For point 2 only RLS works completly fine.

    I was thinking more on line of Duplicating data source + some magic (bookmark or combination)
    for point 1/3 along with it. But could not create any model. Any sugesstion on this line.

      Sorry for my poor knowledge, I can't give any suggestions.😑

      For points 1 and 3, the slicer does not currently support visible but unavailable settings like this.
