How to remove the Brackets for negative values in Power Bi Desktop

Hi All,

How to remove the Brackets for negative values in Power Bi Desktop. In my source i have value like -$8,516,634.3 but in my power bi report it is showing like  ($8,516,634.3). Will you please any one tell me how to show as it is values in my report. For this in excel we can do the custom format cell but in power bi how we will change to custom format of column.

Regards,

 Narendra M

@Narendra

It seems some standard accounting way to show negative numbers in parentheses. If you don't like it, based on my test, you can set the format as "$ Afrikaans(Namibia)" which has the same US dollar sign and indicates negative with a "-".

You can custom a decimal number in more ways by using FORMAT.

@Narendra On modelling tab under Data Type change Format to decimal number. This will also take currency symbol away.

Hi Ankit,

Already my data type is decimal number only. Actually my question is i want to show the negative values instead of brackets. Can we do the custom format cells for columns like excel...

There are 2 dropdowns there, one for data type and one for data format.  Ankit is saying change the format to Decimal Number (it probably says General currently).
