How do I remove roads from a PBI Map? I'm mapping zip code data.
Hi @Del235
We’re currently working on this feature. Would you mind sending me an email so I can verify your specific needs with you?
Hi @Del235 ,
Remove roads from Power BI map visuals (base and filled maps) You can customize the look of your map by changing the map style. This is useful when you want to reduce the level of detail, such as roads, to focus on data, such as ZIP code areas.
Go to the Visualization pane on the right and look for the Map Settings or Map Style section. Select a Grayscale or Light map style. These styles typically place less emphasis on roads and more emphasis on data areas such as ZIP codes. Adjust the zoom level in the same settings to control the visible range of the map. Higher zoom levels naturally reduce the visibility of roads.
ArcGIS Maps Select a basemap style with minimal detail (such as Light Gray Canvas or No Basemap). These options can reduce or completely remove roads from your map.
Power BI's default map and filled map visuals are powered by Bing Maps. While you can adjust the style to minimize roads, it's not always possible to completely remove them using these visuals. If you need full control over the appearance of your map (such as hiding specific elements such as roads), you may want to explore third-party visuals such as ArcGIS Maps for more advanced map customization options.
If I have answered your question, please mark my reply as solution and kudos to this post, thank you!
Hi @Del235 ,
I think we would need more help here. But, this sounds like a specific visual issue. You probably will have to go to that visual's support page to determine how it works with that visual.
