I'm having trouble with MySQL, I believe that because I have a lot of Applied Steps in Power BI, which is causing the MySQL server to be overworked, and I have many errors when refreshing.
If my hypothesis is correct, my thought is to use Dataflow as an intermediary, just import the MySQL data into a dataflow, and then send it to PowerBI Desktop and do my changes that I need. Would this reduce pressure on MySQL?
When I tried just making a dataflow with all the steps in the dataflow, I got the same errors, which is why I thought maybe having a dataflow with no applied steps would help.

There may be a slight delay between MySQL and the report updates, depending on the Dataflow refresh frequency. If that’s not an issue for you, this approach should work well.
