Hi, I am a newbee with the power BI.
I want to create both the dashboards and reports
I've noticed that when I create a report (save the project as .pbix) and publish it, it always stores in the reports section. How can I create a dashboard that will allow me to save it in the dashboard secion when I publish it
Hi @tparvaiz,
First, you should know that dashboard is only available in Power BI service. We can create dashboard in service and pin a tile to dashboard which is linked to a specific report. Your requirement that create and publish a dashboard from desktop is impossible now.
Reference: Create a Power BI dashboard from a report

Hi @tparvaiz
The Power BI Desktop application only allows you to build and publish reports. Once you have published this to the Web Service, you can then create dashboards there. An easy way is to simply start pinning visuals from any report page. This will ask you if you want to create a new dashboard or pin the visual to an existing one.
Remember a Dashboard can have visuals pinned to it from multiple reports.
