any tips to make this pie char looking like a pro?

Best practice we consider is
Data labels ON → Legend OFF (for small category sets).
Legend ON → Data labels simplified (for larger sets).

You can try different things to make this chart look like pro :
1. Use a consistent color palette - Gradient from dark to light
2. Add Clear Labels - Turn on Data Label
3. Place legends in bottom centre position
4. Replace the generic title with “Cloud Cost Distribution by Pricing Model”
5. You can put a card visual in the donut hole:Add a Card → show “Total Cost”
6. Use white background, remove borders.
Turn on drop shadow under “Visual effects”
7. Customize Tooltip to show more details

are you using it also when creating 5 top categories? Or it makes sense only when you have more shown categories?

For Top 5 , it best makes sense to use gradient when you want to show highest to lowest
