How to link documents on shared folder on a server with power bi report

I have a virtual machine on which power bi desktop is installed. I want the power bi report made here to have a button/ link, upon clicking which it should redirect me to pick files placed in this folder.

I know, we can give a web link of power bi service or any other website but can this pick up files from local folder as well?

Is there any way to do this?

After my testing and researching, I am afraid that you couldn't do it currently in Desktop.
