How to keep data colors consistent and not changing?

Hi all,

I have a scatter plot (bubble chart) where I plot staff members on the graph according to their performance. Each time I use my slicer to select a different store, the data colors of the bubbles/dots change and randomly select other colors which are hard to recognise and sometimes match the background color. Each staff member is unique and therefore each staff member is being assigned a different color. I would prefer that the colors repeat for staff members from different stores.

Is there a way to keep all my data colors consistent so that when I choose a different store, the colors of the dots will use my theme colors first, instead of choosing random colors?

See below example:

Left is my data colors from theme which I want to show always. The right is an example of the random colors it generates....

Hi @Anonymous

You can add a hex colour column to your staff member table and use conditional formatting as per the example below.

Is there an update to this solution for the August 2025 version of Power BI? I can't find anything similar in the graph and table visuals to allow the use of a defined column as a colour
