How to identify tooltips/drillthrough?

Hello,

Recently Ive become an maintainance owner of big report, like 100 pages and 50 hidden and I wonder if there is a way to get quickly to know which visuals/pages are supposed to be used in drillthrough and/or tooltip without going one by one or visual by visual?

  • Hi Pbiuserr ,

There is an external tool that allows you to identify everything on a report.

You can pick it up in the link below:

    https://powerbi.tips/2020/01/power-bi-field-finder/

On this then you need to take into account the folllowing:

    • Table Page Filters the ones that have howCreated = 5 are the ones for the Driltrough

    • On the table Pages the one with config = "type":1 are the ones that are tooltips:

    Hope this helps.

      Hi,
Thanks but I am afraid no one from the client side will allow me to use external extensions, like it has not been introducted by MS or at least SQLBI guys just a some developer right? Wish I could use it tho

        Hi Pbiuserr ,

This is not an external tool, is consider like that but it's a Power BI template so basically it's a Power BI report that you can link to other reports and get the metadata, on this you have no issue since there is no install of any software, and it's used on Power BI desktop.
