How to get serial No in table for Power BI

Hello,

I have put like this SR No in excel file but in power BI table visual the Sr No are not coming in serial way they are coming in random way i have tried to sort column by Index No but below meassage occurs

And in power BI the table is looking  like this for Sr NO

And my Sr No are like this in excel file

Hi @hb0135 

 

I'd say that column is stored as text rather than numeric data.  Check in Power Query that the column is numeric.  The column should have an icon in the top left : either 1.2 or 123, rather than ABC123.

I'd say that column is stored as text rather than numeric data.  Check in Power Query that the column is numeric.  The column should have an icon in the top left : either 1.2 or 123, rather than ABC123.

Hi @hb0135 

 

In that image it looks like the numbers are being sorted in descending order.  Below the column name Sr. No. there's a triangle pointing down.

 

Click on that and it should sort the column as you expect, in ascending order - providing that the column is a numeric type and not text.
