How to get measures with new and returning user based on logs ?

Hi,

I'm new to the PowerBi game, and I'm facing a problem and I don't know how to solve it, so I'm asking for your help !

So in PowerBi, I have a table with all the logs of my application. So for each action a user do, I get the date, the event...

And I want to create a dashboard when I can see over the month who are :

  • The new users (new email this month that wasn't in the logs before this month)
  • The returning users (email that was in the logs last month and that is also in the log this month)
  • The lost users (email that wasn't in the logs for the last past 3 month -> So it's considered as lost for the current month)

Here's an exemple of what I would like to get :

Do you know how I can acheive this ?

Thank you very much for your help !

Hi, @Anonymous

It is not very clear what fields and data types are in your table, and what's wrong with your measure.

Could you mind providing some sample data with onedrive for business? So we can help you.

Best Regards

Janey Guo

Sorry but in my case I don't see how to apply your solution 😞

I just want to base my measures on whether an email is present in the logs this month or last month and then see if it's a returning user or a new one.
