How to delete date hierarchy

Hi community

How can I delete this hierarchy? when I right click on it, there is no delete option available.

    Hi Anonymous 

    Did you tun it off for New Files (Global Options) or the Current File?  If you've unchecked this box under Current File Options then the date hierarchy should be removed.

    Hi Anonymous 

    Why do you need to delete it?

    If you are using it in visuals and getting y/q/m/d being shown, you can set it so that it only shows the actual date

    Click on the Date in your values field, then click on the name of the field, so that the Date Hierarchy is no longer checked/selected

      Thanks for your reply. I have to delete it so that it matches our standards and pass peer review. using the actual date in the visual doesn't solve the problem. it's strange that you can't delete them.

      I disabled auto date hierarchy from options menu but it didn't remove the hierarchy.
