Hi everyone,
I would like to ask if it’s possible to set data label colors in a Power BI line chart so that positive numbers appear in black and negative numbers appear in red.
I know we can change the overall data label color, but I haven’t found a way to apply conditional formatting to data labels in a line chart.
Is there any workaround or setting that can achieve this?
Thanks in advance!
Power BI does not support conditional formatting for line chart data labels as of now.
As a workaround, you can make two separate measures: one for positive values and one for negative values.
Then, plot these as separate series on your line chart, assign a different color to each, and only turn on data labels for each matching line.
This way, positive and negative values appear in different colors, even though this uses two lines instead of one.
This workaround lets you visually separate positive and negative values, but not on the very same line series

Hi @Hancy0733 ,
Select the Line visual.
Then, navigate to the Data labels section and choose the specific line for which you want to apply color formatting.
Now, go to the Value option under Data labels, and click the Fx button to apply conditional formatting for color.
Now, configure the colors based on your defined rules, and then save the changes.
Please mark this post as solution if it helps you. Appreciate Kudos.
