How to create date parameters to evaluate sales of different periods

I am to visualize sales performace of current week, current month (calendar) and current trimester on a line chart compared to sales forecast.  The idea is that the user can easilty choose the period of time he wants to see in the chart. For exampls (week, month or trimester) and the chart adjust accordingly. I explore the relative date provided by PBI but no currrent trimester date exists. 

I am thinking in doing it with parameters that can be selected by the users that impact on the chart with the mentioned dates. Can anyone help me or suggest any ideas.
