How to create a button that includes a filter on one field that starts with the letters XC?
I've inherited a report created by someone else, and the client has now asked for a button that will filter the report to only records that have a campaigncode field that starts with the letters "XC".
I'm very very new to PBI, so not sure how to approach this? Hidden slicer tied to a bookmark button?
It needs to be a "Text starts with" just in case those characters are found elsewhere in the data set.
I already have a "clear all filters" button that resets the report slicers , but not sure how to implement the "XC" starts with text filtering
Any tips hints ideas are most appreciated.
SOLVED: In the most obvious basic way which I sometimes think we forget. Being new to powerBI means I have the chance to explore the OOTB functions. I suspected it should be something very easy to do- but all I found were complex scenarios online.
How:
I enabled page level filtering, added my field, selected advanced, and selected starts with "XC" - I applied the filter and then hid the filter from the report viewer
Then added a bookmark of the report in this state. Added a button, applied the bookmark to the button - YES!!! it worked.
And I also added a "Clear All" button to ensure a one-click step to return to the entire report.

Greatly appreciate the links to the "how to provide sample data" however unfortunately I can't do this- the data and report is strictly confidential and to be completely honest, I don't think I even have access to that part of the report. I'll keep googling or looking for youtube videos... at this stage I don't even know what control to start with other than a slicer but slicers are not strict to "start with text" so I'm in a pickle.
