How to create a Region hierarchy for slicers

Hello everyone,

I am struglling to create a hiearchy for my regions. I have create groups and its all working fine for drill down purposes and I have tried to use the same groups for hiearchy slicer but it did not work as i wanted. the drop down was not available and the group apppeard without the possibility of rolling them down to the next level.

Here is a little view of how my data is set up if any of you can help me with my request.

Rest of the worldAsiaEuropeUKI
City 1City 1City 1City 1
City 2City 2City 2City 2
City 3City 3City 3City 3
City 4City 4City 4City 4
 City 5City 5City 5
 City 6City 6City 6
 City 7City 7City 7
 City 8City 8City 8
 City 9City 9

I would like to have 4 main regions in my hiearchy slicer and then use the drop down to roll the cities under each region.

Thank you in advance.

Mous

Hi @Mous007

The Hierarchy slicer is a preview future in the current version, you will not be able to use it unless you upgrade.

Hi @Mariusz , this is exactly how it should look like.

I have managed to open your file on another computer.

Im wondering which steps can i take to have the same result as you did ?

Thanks

EDIT

Hi again @Mariusz, i solved my issues by simply duplicating the list as you have shown me on excel and imported it directly

It all good now. thanks a lot

If the data in given format, you have to unpivot it

hi @amitchandak ,

I have tried your solution and now i can see a region but the underlying cities are either shown as blank or i can only see one.

Any suggestions on how i can solve this ?

Thanks
