How to connect a MongoDB database with power BI Desktop when TCP/IP Server is not localhost ?

Here are some of many videos which explain how to connect a mongodb database to a power bi dashboard. But those videos show only the case where database is in a localhost, in need to find how to import a mongoDB database when the server is not a localhost.

The following steps are for your reference:

 

  • First, make sure that the MongoDB ODBC driver is installed on your computer, which is required for Power BI to communicate with MongoDB. You can download the driver from the official MongoDB website.
  • After installing the MongoDB ODBC driver, you need to configure the ODBC data source for the MongoDB database. During configuration, specify the connection details for the remote MongoDB server, including the server address, port, database name, and authentication credentials if required.
  • Open Power BI Desktop and go to Get Data. Search ODBC and select the Data Source Name (DSN) configured for the MongoDB database. Follow the prompts to import the data into Power BI.
