How to connect Python (MSIX/Windows Apps) to PowerBI Desktop

Hello,

on my company notebook Python 3.8 is installed as a MSIX, therefore installed in the Windows Apps Folder, where I dont have access to (needs admin rights). Problem ist, If I want to use Python scripts, PowerBi Desktop asks for the installationfolder to execute Python -> Access denied. 

I know the Workaround: install the Python locally in a folder where you have access, but we aren´t allowed to install software on our own.  

 

Maybe someone has an idea?

I would really appreciate it.

    Hi sarajevo ,

     

    If your app needs to write to the installation directory or use the current working directory, you can also consider adding a runtime fixup using the Package Support Framework to your package. For more details, see this article.
