How to connect D365 to BI desktop?

Hi, I'm new connecting this path, so I would like to know which permissions do I need and how to connect the views that I got from the reports engagement side, I saw this tutorial https://seshandixit.wordpress.com/2019/09/17/fetchxml-to-retrieve-data-from-d365-ce-to-power-bi/#:~:.... but here says that I need the API and I don't know where get it and other way is with XrmToolBox but with this says that I don't have the permissions, so I need to know which permisions are required or another way to connect it with Power BI Desktop.

Try the Dataverse connector to access D365 sales and customer service. That is what I have used in the past: Use Power BI using Microsoft Dataverse data - Power Apps | Microsoft Learn
