How to clear interactive filters in drill through page?

Hello everyone,

I have been struggling with clearing the interactive drill down and other filters that users add in the visuals in the drill through page. In my drill through page, I have 3 visuals - table, waterfall chart (drill down), and shape map. I would like all interactive filters to be cleared when exiting the drill through page to go back to the main page. So, when I select another data point in a bar chart to drill through, all previous interactive filters used in the previous data point should be reset for the new data point. Is there a way to achieve this?

Previously when I created a bookmark, it took into consideration the category value that is passed on from the main page, but on trying to reset the filters for another data point, it resets to the other category value that was used in creating the bookmark.

I would really appreciate any ideas or suggestions that could help me with this problem.

Thank you,

Vishwa

Hi vishbabariya,

We appreciate your inquiry on the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.

Based on my understanding, drillthrough filters update automatically when a new data point is selected. However, interactive filters applied within the drillthrough page such as cross-highlighting in visuals, drill-down state, and slicer selections are not automatically cleared. If a bookmark was created with the page’s data captured, it can retain the category that was active when the bookmark was created, which explains why previous filter values are sometimes reapplied.

Please follow the steps below, they may help resolve the issue:
1. On the drillthrough page, create a Reset bookmark that clears slicer selections and restores visuals to their default state. In the Bookmarks pane, set the bookmark to Selected visuals and select Data only for those visuals. Avoid capturing the drillthrough field in the bookmark.
2. Add a Reset button and link it to this bookmark.
3. Optionally, add the built-in Clear all slicers button for slicers.
4. This way, when users navigate back or drill into another data point, they can click Reset and always begin with a clean state without previous filters being reapplied.

We hope this information helps to resolve the issue. Should you have any further queries, please feel free to contact the Microsoft Fabric community.

Thank you.

@vishbabariya , Ideally, drill-through filter will clear automatically, for the slicer filter, you can use Clear all slicers button.
