Hi All
Hope you can help
Below I have some inflation statistics broken down per country displayed via a line graph
When I select countries independently everything seems fine
However, when I try to select the whole region I get a unrealistic increase
I suspect that is because the values get summarized as opoosed to mean value being provided
Is there any way I can change that and have mean value displayed instead?

Hey @Anonymous ,
you are already using a measure, change the SUM aggregation function inside to AVERAGE.
Regards,
Tom
Hey @Anonymous ,
numeric values used inside any visual are aggregated, the default aggregation function is SUM. This can be changed as in the picture below:
The above picture shows a table visual and the current aggregation function for the numeric column SalesQuantiy.
The aggregation function can be changed per visual or inside the dataset using the data view:
Of course, you can also write a DAX measure, but I tend to avoid writing measures, when the challenge can be tackled by adapting the dataset or inside a visual.
Hopefully, this provides what you are looking for.
Regards,
Tom
Hi Tom
Thank you for getting back to me and for your prompt response
Apologies if I am being a bit silly, but I can't seem to find where the summarization is
The value is already set to be "No calculation"
Because those value come from measures table, I do wonder whether I can alter my DAX expression in a way that will avoid summarization
Hey @Anonymous ,
you are already using a measure, change the SUM aggregation function inside to AVERAGE.

Tom
