Hi how do I add space between numbers in a colum in Power BI Desktop. I saw that you can use comma. Can you use space or dots?
Eg I have 111234567
I want it look look like this:
111 234 567
or
111.234.567
/KR
It depends.
If you want to keep it as a number in Power Desktop, then you must create a new pbix file after you have adjusted your regional settings to a culture that uses a space as thousand separator, e.g. Norway.
I couldn't find a way to adjust it in an existing pbix file, nor via adjusting the Regional Settings via options in Power BI Desktop, nor by adjusting the regional settings in Windows.
For reports in Power BI, the displayed number format depends on your personal settings.
Or do you want to convert the number to text with spaces for thousand separators?
Ok thanks for the tip, I will try it.
No I don't want to change it to text, it should remain as int datatype.
/KR
Hi @RiRo,
As @MarcelBeug said, if you format the values based on current column, it will force the data type to be changed to text.
The only workaround is to change the regional settings so that the long values will use space or dot as its thounsands separator.
