How to Switch mode in PowerBI from Direct to Import

Does Power BI still support switching a PBIX file from Direct Query to Import? I saw in the past there was some text next to the live connection that said "(Click here to change)", when I look at my file in the desktop application it just says "Live Connection: Connected"

I am on version: 2.52.4921.581 64-bit (November, 2017)

What is your data source? Is it a Power BI Service dataset?

I am using a Direct Query to an On Premesis Multidimensional Cube

I thought you could only use Live Connect with MDX cubes (or import) which I think is different to Direct Connect

You are correct, I am mixing up the terminology. I am live connected to MDX cube. Can you switch a live connect to an Import?

Hi @Anonymous,

I don't think there is an option to switch SSAS connect model from "Connect Live" to "Import" currently. Here is the idea shared on Power BI Ideas forum. You can vote it up and add your comments there to improve Power BI on this feature.

I just tried with my November build and I still get the option in the bottom right hand corner to switch from Direct Query mode.
