How to Show "All Prior" on x-axis - All Values Outside Filter Context

Example:

I have a bar chart that shows values for each month. The filter is set for 1/1/2024 - 8/31/2024. So the x-axis shows values for Jan, Feb, Mar, etc... through August.

I'm trying to have a value appear on the x-axis that would group and display all amounts prior to 1/1/2024. So the x-axis would show "All Prior" and then Jan, Feb, Mar, etc... through August.

No creative ways are coming to my head on how to tackle this.

Hi,

I am not sure how your semantic model looks like, but I tried to create a sample pbix file like below.

Please check the below picture and the attached pbix file.

expected result measure: =
VAR _sales =
    CALCULATE (
        SUM ( sales[sales] ),
        'calendar'[Year-Month sort] = MAX ( calendar_x_axis[Year-Month sort] )
    )
VAR _allprior =
    CALCULATE (
        SUM ( sales[sales] ),
        FILTER ( ALL ( 'calendar' ), 'calendar'[Date] < MIN ( 'calendar'[Date] ) )
    )
RETURN
    IF ( MAX ( calendar_x_axis[Year-Month] ) = "All Prior", _allprior, _sales )
