How to Retain Zoom Level and Position in Azure Map Visuals Across Report Pages?

I'm encountering an issue with multiple map visuals across different report pages in Power BI. Whenever I zoom into an Azure Map visual on one page, then navigate to a different report page and return, the map does not retain its previous zoom level or position. This behavior is frustrating because I want the map to maintain its zoom level and position while navigating between pages.

Is there a solution or a built-in feature in Power BI that allows the map's zoom level and position to persist across page changes?

    Hi powerbiuser6 ,

Following internal discussions, the product team added Optimise Auto-Zoom to the development plan to optimise the visualisation of Azure maps and make them more user-friendly.

    Hi powerbiuser6 ,

I have reproduced the same behavior.

If you are using the Azure map visual with bubble, try temporarily use of the map visual and disabling the Auto Zoom option.

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, this solution doesn't fully address my issue. The problem still persists, as the zoom level and position on the map continue to reset every time I return to the report page. What I need is a way to keep the zoom level and map position exactly the same when navigating between report pages.

      Update:

I have just escalated this behavior of Azure Map visual to the Product Group and they will be investigating this. I'll update below if there is a new response.

      Hi powerbiuser6 ,

Feedback from the product team that this behavior is by design. Currently, Azure maps can only be updated by (manually) updating the Zoom, Center Latitude, and Center Longitude to the bounding boxes that the user wants to see.

I found a portal where you can submit product feedback to help improve Azure Maps.
