How to Prevent a Bookmark From Changing a Slicer

Hi all, is there a way to disable bookmarks from changing specific slicers/visuals?  I have date slicers set up and do not want these to change with the bookmark changes.

No solutions here solved the issue.  After much digging, this is a limitation with Power BI - I have chosen to go another route to meet the user's requirements.

In case this helps you or anyone else who may come across this thread:

I had a similar situation that brought me here, although I wanted to change the date but not the companies that were selected, each controlled by different slicers. What worked for me was:

  1. Select all the visuals you want to adjust with the bookmark.
  2. Click on the three dots next to the bookmark you are trying to change.
  3. Select the "Selected Visuals" option.
  4. Be sure to "Update" the bookmark while all visuals you want to have impacted are still selected.Bookmark.JPG

Hey @garynorcrossmmc ,

go next to the bookmark  to the settings and disable "Data":

Then the slicers will not be saved anymore with the bookmark.

If you need any help please let me know.
If I answered your question I would be happy if you could mark my post as a solution ✔️ and give it a thumbs up 👍

Hi @selimovd, thanks for the response.  However this prevents the other visuals from changing to the desired state in the bookmark.

I have 7 buttons for 7 different bookmarks, which show/hide different table visuals.  What I want to do is prevent those buttons from changing the START DATE and END DATE slicers each time I toggle the bookmarks, and allow the bookmark buttons to change the other visuals specified by the bookmarks.  Is this possible?

@garynorcrossmmc ,

As I explained, when you disable "data", the slicer values (Start Date, End, date) will not be saved in the bookmark. The visibility of visuals will be changed accordingly to your setting.
