How to Edit Interactions on New Card visual?
What you’re seeing is expected behavior for the New Card visual in Microsoft Power BI—it supports data point selection, which behaves like a cross-filter even though it doesn’t fully participate in Edit Interactions (yet). That mismatch is exactly why it feels confusing.
Why this happens
The New Card visual allows clicking on category values (like Years).
That click creates a filter context for the page (similar to selecting a bar in a chart).
However, unlike charts, it doesn’t expose interaction controls in Edit Interactions, so you can’t disable it the usual way.
One option is to change the new visual card to old version.
The other option is overlay a transparent shape/button. So If someone click the card visual, actually he is clicking the shape on it. Clicking the shape or button will not filter the data.
I have another workaround is to use a bookmark to reset all filter. If someone click the year by accident, he can click the reset button to reset the filters
