How to Auto Update the Dashboard

Hi,

I have created a report in power BI using Oracle database,

After publishing the report, I have created a dashboard.

I like to know how to auto update the dashboard , if there any data updation occurs in my database.

I have went on through Refresh now and scheduled refresh in datasets,

But I am just sharing my dashboard to client not dataset, When updation occurs frequently in database , How it will hit the dashboard in Real time

Could anyone please guide me to solve this issue

Thanks,

Joshua

  • Hi Joshua,

If you pin a visual from a report to the dashboard, when you update data on database side, the dataset need to be refreshed firstly, then the dashboard tile will be refreshed automatically by default every about every fifteen minutes. As the dashboard tile data comes from the dataset, only after the dataset get refreshed, then tile can be refreshed as well.

If you pin a live page to a dashboard, you need to refresh dashboard page after the dataset is refreshed to see updated data in dashboard.

    Best Regards,
