How i can do when i hover a cell to appear a message?

Hello everyone,

I have a table with some installations steps and when i hover over a step i want to display exactly what that steps mean. It's posible to do that somehow? I mention that i have a table with all steps already. There are a lot of steps to display and i can't do it manually using tooltip for every cell.

These steps are not static. They are dinamyc in function of what is installed. For example one task have 7 steps of installation with a set of instruction and another task have 14 steps of installation with another set of instruction.

Is there any possibility to do this?

Thank you in advance!

Best regards,

Stefan

Hi @stefan2297 ,

If I properly understand, you have to set a custom tooltip maybe like shown in the image. Please check and let me know. In my opinion tooltip is the best solution, if you show me more details, for example a pbix sample, I can work on it.

I figured out now something.

My steps are different in function of what element is installed. So i can try to put when you put number Element and for description what steps are used.

I don't know if you understand what i try to use 😄

In case it is not so difficult for you, could you share with me a very simple example pbix?

thanks,

g.

Hello Gianluca,

I make a wetransfer link for example: https://we.tl/t-5N96EtznZd

To know what instruction to display when i hover a step i don't know if it's so easy to do it. Another solution that i see is when i hover element name to see al instructions for this element.

For example when i hover Element 1 wil display:

Step1: mount on the wall

Step2: ....

Step3:....

Step4:....

Also, in the original report element name is extracted from another Tab and is a relation between that Tab and Installation Tab. In this example i don't make it.

Thank you very much for help!

Best regards,

Stefan

Hi,

I have added some tables marked as prefix 'myTest' and added two more pages in the report.

Please check and let me know.

I need to show steps instructions in that hover, because the status (done/not done/not applicable is already in the table. For each element name. Element names have different steps.

I figured out something, but it's possible somehow to display these steps on vertical not horizontal?

yes, you could, but with another visualization, not table but matrix-> see this for example : Solved: Vertical display of values in a Matrix visualizati... - Microsoft Power BI Community

Please check and let me know,

g

I make something wrong with this matrix. This is what shows when i put it. Tooltip i used is the one named Page1.

Your best bet is probably a report page tooltip. See:
