How does one define a “region” (from Bing recognized geocode data) for Map Visualizations?

For example “Region 1” could be US, Canada, and Mexico. “Region 2” the remaining Central American Countries except for Panama.

    You can create a calculated column using switch that assigns every country to a Region - pertty sure the map visualization won't recognize the region as a geospatial region so maybe that's not a solution - but you'll have the hierarchy.

      Thank Austin, but that’s the point. If the "geospatial region" is defined by set of "geospatial regions" then the visualization ought to recognize them collectively. This is fundamental. Power BI is worth snot when it comes to maps if it does not do this, as this concept is prevalent at many different levels. Something as simple as recognizing a sales person's region is beyond the capabilities of Power BI. Very disappointing. Even more disappointing is that this post has only received 1 reply and there has been no response to my email request for support that is 4 days old when at least a response is promised after 1 day.
